GHP Collaborating Partners
Since 2014, UNAIDS and GHP cooperate very closely for various activities focused on promoting and underlining the importance of true mulisector approaches and strategies. This includes co-hosting of panel discussions and workshops e.g. at the World Health Summits 2015, 2016 and 2017, as well as, close cooperations for the annual German-African Healthcare Symposium, contributions at meetings and discussions of GHP to the UNAIDS Programme Coordination Board, at UNAIDS sessions at the World Investment Forum, and mutual support for other activities such as the German Global Health Award, etc.
World Health Summit (WHS)
World Health Summit and GHP are closely collaborating in various areas while the WHS Foundation is official member of GHP. Since 2014, GHP is co-organizing panel discussions and workshops at the World Health Summit. In addition, the annual German-African Healthcare Symposium in the meanwhile has become an official side event of WHS. WHS and GHP jointly publish position papers, e.g. in the context of Global Health and Health System Strengthening in Africa. The cooperation of WHS and GHP serves as excellent example on te value, importance and effect of close partnerships between academia, science & research and the private sector. WHS, GHP and Fraunhofer signed a Letter of Intent to establish the “World Health Science & Industry Circle”. The joint initiative aims to intensify the dialogue between Science and Industry, to activate and establish national and international networks and to enhance structures and processes to lead basic research to marketable products.
German-African Business Association / Afrika-Verein
GHP and the German-African Business Association (Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft e.V.) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Through this cooperation, complementing expertise and know-how of both associations will be consolidated and bundled more efficiently. One example for the fruitful collaboration is the jointly organized German-African Healthcare Symposium, emphasizing the advantage of the shoulder-to shoulder partnership.
African Society of Laboratory Medicine (ASLM)
In December 2014, Dr. Messele, Chief Executive Officer of the African Society of Laboratory Medicine (ASLM) and Roland Göhde, Chairman of GHP, countersigned a mutual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Through this MoU the two parties agreed to collaboratively work to support their shared strategy of strengthening African healthcare outcomes, specifically those related to laboratory medicine and systems.
Lateinamerika Verein e.V.
GHP and the Lateinamerika Verein e.V signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU expresses the mutual intention to closely cooperate and make use of the complementing expertise and know-how of both associations more efficiently.
