GHA – German Health Alliance
The International Voice of German Health
GHA, initiative of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), pools the world’s most reputable health experts and suppliers of medical solutions for the purpose of providing health infrastructure and services in developing and emerging markets. The initiatve aims to close the gap between the international demand for healthcare system know-how and the excellent solutions German actors have to offer.
By combining the specific strengths of public, non-governmental and private organisations as well as by fostering cooperation between German healthcare stakeholders, the German Healthcare Partnership allows for valuable synergies in order to provide the whole range of high quality products and services necessary to enhance access to high-standard healthcare services.
GHA supports its member entities to be successful and to contribute to health system strengthening and global health with top quality health care solutions in the international context.
The work of the GHA aims to strengthen the German healthcare sector with regards to the international competition. We advocate for the improvement of framework conditions, better chances of market entry and positioning German entities as partners for efficient, adequate and sustainable healthcare solutions.
The GHA expedites the closing of ranks with neighbouring networks and works towards an intensive cooperation between all relevant players in the export-oriented healthcare sector.
We have excellent contacts available to adjacent federations, academia and politics, both domestic and abroad. We are supported by German ministries and work closely together with embassies, chambers of foreign trade, the KfW and the GIZ.
Focal Point of Contact
We receive inquiries for cooperation with the German health care sector, carry out demand- and interest-analyses with our members and initiate situation-related cooperation.
We provide possibilities for networking, advocating political issues and information exchange through events, forums, working groups and publications.
We utilize our valuable contacts to political decision makers to operate with political flanking and to promote issues within the decision-making process.
On behalf of our member entities, we identify restraints and campaign for their depletion in politics, public authorities and relevant decision-makers.
Cooperation with Science
We strengthen the exchange between academia, science, research, NGOs and industry within the internationally-oriented health care sector. The close cooperation of WHS and GHA and the WHS Science & Industry Circle, founded by the World Health Summit, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and the GHA are examples for this institutionalized cooperation.
